Maxime Comeau This album is SUPERB and gorgeous-sounding. So tough these days to get a truly analogue-like warm, rich sound ... this album will fit in perfectly on your playlists alongside Wayne Shorter, Terence Blanchard, Mark Isham, Coltrane and Davis ... it's THAT good and well executed. Kudos, guys - I am FLOORED and IN LOVE. Favorite track: In The Morning.

about

Jazzamboka is the coming together of ‘jazz’ and ‘yamboka’, meaning village or country in the Congolese language of Lingala.

Despite the name, the band, made up of five Quebec residents, two of Congolese origin, does not limit itself to conventional Jazz. They prefer instead to draw on their diverse musical backgrounds including Hip-Hop, Soukous, Be-Bop, Funk, Rock, Electronic and, above all, the music of Central Africa.

Incorporating a variety of traditional and ancestral musical instruments namely the lokolé and the ngoma into the band’s core instrumentation helps creates Jazzamboka’s unique, signature sound.

THE BAND: Emile Farley: Bass, Julien Fillion: Saxophone, Félix Leblanc: Keyboard, Elli Miller-Maboungou: Ngoma (Congolese drum), Noel Mpiaza: Drum set

________________________________________________________________
